Grand Traverse County Community Remembers September 11th, 2001

Posted: Updated:

Collectively, the morning of September 11th, 2001 is burned into our individual memories. The violence was so great, we gather to heal together. A new Memorial in Grand Traverse County is a place of peace; a piece of steel from the North Tower now stands there.

343 firefighters lost their lives that day. First responders stood ready and willing to give their lives to save someone else's. It's no longer another day on the calendar, it stands as a constant reminder of the lives lost, and what we do to remember.
