Governor Snyder Proposes to Overhaul Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan

Governor Rick Snyder is proposing overhauling Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan.
The governor says he wants to "level the playing field" for insurers and modernize Michigan's insurer of last resort that serves more than 4-million people.
The plan would require Blue Cross to pay out roughly $1.5 billion over 18 years to a non-profit entity aimed at improving public health and health care access.
