Posted: Updated:

Tuesday 1:00pm UPDATE: Autopsy results show that the gunman who shot and killed a police officer, killed himself. Ricky Coley, 50-years-old, was found Monday night in a bedroom where he shot himself.

Tuesday: 5:00am UPDATE: Ricky Coley's body was found dead inside of his house. Police found his body late Monday night surrounded by knives and other weapons. Police say it's not immediately clear if he took his own life.

Monday 6:00pm UPDATE: Authorities are destroying part of the home that the gunman is hiding in. A heavy machine clawed away at Ricky Coley's home earlier today after he refused to surrender.

Officials say a 12-year veteran police officer was fatally shot in suburban Detroit where police responded to a call about a man in trouble.

Officer Pat O'Rourke was killed Sunday night inside a home in the Oakland County community.

The resident, Ricky Coley, the head of a financial company who is in trouble with regulators, shot the police officer and then barricaded himself inside his home.

Lt. Timothy Diamond says Coley was involved in a "divorce situation" and two other people escaped from the home before the 911 call.

The standoff lasted 20 hours and then police broke through Coley's house.
