UPDATE: Big Rapids Teen Dies After Getting Hit By Car

A Big Rapids teenager riding a bicycle died when he turned in front of a car.
The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened on Perry Street, near 215th Avenue in Big Rapids Township.
Deputies say 17-year-old Cody Canpanga and a car driven by a 19-year-old Wisconsin man, were heading east on Perry, when Canpanga turned left in front of the vehicle.
Several agencies responded to the scene and Canpanga was transported by Aeromed to Butterworth Hospital, in Grand Rapids where he died from his injuries.
