International School at Bertha Vos Hosts Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening

Posted: Updated:

A northern Michigan elementary school is getting new life after closing its doors nearly five years ago. Bertha Vos in Grand Traverse County was closed in 2008 because of budget cuts in the Traverse City Area Public School District, many thought it was for good; but, after some renovations and decisions from the school board, it has reopened as a Montessori and International School.

Students who attend are interested in the global world, and different cultures and languages. Today, there was a ribbon cutting and ceremony to celebrate it's grand re-opening.
