TRAVERSE CITY - The Traverse City Beach Bums struck for three runs in the first, and another in the fifth, and looked to be well on their way to evening up their Division Series with Southern Illinois, before the Miners came back to tie the game in the eighth inning.  Ken Gregory then hit a solo home run in the tenth, as Southern Illinois downed the Beach Bums, 5-4, to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Chase Burch hit a solo homer in the fifth, and contributed an RBI ground out in the first to lead the Traverse City attack.  Jose Vargas and Jeff Flagg each had an RBI as well.

Game three will be played at Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois on Saturday evening.  Traverse City will send Brooks Belter (10-3) to the hill, looking to extend their season.  Southern Illinois will counter with Cody Hall (9-1).
