Traverse Heights Elementary is starting the new school year off on the right foot. The school is taking part in a nationwide effort known as the "Million Father March". The effort is supported by the U.S. Secretary of Education, and encourages Fathers to take their kids to school on the first day.
Don't let the name fool you, it isn't really a march; it's an effort to encourage not only Fathers, but all parents to get more involved with their child's school; but, Traverse Heights hopes today's commitment from will get parents involved in volunteering at the school year-round.
