Crews Prepare to Break Ground on Clinch Park Revitalization Project

Posted: Updated:

Traverse City Mayor, Michael Estes, is breathing a sigh of relief; one less mini train, and two years of planning later, beautifying the bayfront is a reality.  Work like this hasn't been done at Clinch Park since the 1980's.

A kayak launch, and an educational children's stream will become a couple new fixtures. Crews marked trees that won't be removed for construction. Now, they're focusing on preparing the site to break ground. The marina is still open to boaters, there will be short detours for cyclists since a trail runs through the park.

Of all the planning, the Mayor says the biggest hurdle has been fundraising. Now, they have enough to get started.
