Thousands of union supporters marched through downtown Detroit today, as part of a Labor Day celebration including an address by Vice President Joe Biden.
The annual Metro Detroit AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade began under sunny skies this morning, followed by a rally featuring Biden.
This speech will be the latest of several he has given in Michigan, this summer.
He addressed the American Federation of Teachers' National Convention on July 29th and spoke at a rally at Detroit Renaissance High School on August 22nd, during a stop in Michigan that included fundraising events.
The Labor Day appearance comes just ahead of the Democratic national Convention in Charlotte, N. C.
President Barack Obama appeared at Detroit's Labor Day Parade last year.
