Grant Aims to Keep Chippewa County Beaches Safe & Open

Posted: Updated:

For years popular beaches in Chippewa County have routinely been shut down because of dangerous E-Coli levels.

Sherman Park in Sault Ste Marie is a popular spot, but many times this summer it's been closed after daily water tests.

Recently the Chippewa County Health Department was awarded a $217,000 grant which will be used on projects aimed at making the beaches safer.

9&10's Kalin Franks and Eric Davis were in Sault Ste. Marie have more on the projects.
