It's sure to be the sweetest race in Northern Michigan!
The unusual, and very popular, Moomers Ice Cream Mile is back after a three-year break.
To win, racers must be the first to run a mile and eat an entire pint of Moomers ice cream.
Participants can complete the tasks in whatever order they choose. Some run first then eat, others eat then run and a select few even eat while running.
Proceeds from the event support the track and field program at Traverse City Central High School.
Alex Jokich and Stephanie Adkins were live at the TC Central Track on Tuesday morning to get a head start on the evening's events.
(The first wave of racers in the Moomers Ice Cream Mile will take off at 6pm at the TC Central Track in Traverse City on Tuesday. To pre-register, click on the link posted on the left. Online registration closes at noon on Tuesday. You can also register on site starting at 4:30pm.)
