As the summer comes to a close, more Americans than ever are buying their kids' school supplies and many are turning to the web to save money.

But stores don't want to give up the foot traffic and are working to lure frugal customers off line and into stores.

Some retailers are offering deep discounts on items you can only get in the store.

A recent National Retail Federation poll shows the average family will spend nearly $700 on back to school supplies.
