Cheboygan County Man Arrested for Sexual Assault

The Emmet County Sheriff's Office arrested a Cheboygan County man for sexual assault.

James Stephenson, 43-year-old, previously lived in Emmet County, was arrested without incident as his office on August 17th.

He is facing 2 counts of criminal sexual conduct in the 2nd degree, which is a 15 year felony, and indecent exposure, which is a 2 year high court misdemeanor.

The sheriff told 9&10 News that the alleged crimes happened between 2008 and 2010 against a teenager.

Stephenson is currently out on a $10,000 bond but is expected to appear in court next week.
