Some Businesses See Boost From End of Summer Travel

The days of summer are beginning to fade and many families are trying to get in one last vacation.

Some local businesses are seeing a lot of visitors just weeks before kids go back to school.

The owner of Pilgrim Village in Wexford County says many families with younger children are renting his cabins. He says most people with older children are already in back to school mode and not traveling as much.

The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau says July and August are the two most important months for the tourism industry.

The businesses we spoke with expect things to be steady through the rest of the summer and very busy over Labor Day weekend.
