"Critical Shortage" Causing Concerns at Ludington Food Pantry

Posted: Updated:

Empty shelves may soon lead to empty stomachs in one Northern Michigan county.

A local food pantry is experiencing what they call a "critical shortage."

The Salvation Army Food Pantry in Ludington in Mason County says summer can be a tough season for donations.

Local families who normally help tend to go away on vacation and the tourists who take their place do not typically donate.

9&10's Alex Jokich and photojournalist Jacob Johnson spent the day looking into their concerns and have more details.

(You can help the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Ludington by dropping off non-perishable food items and cash donations at 114 East Melendy Street in Ludington.  Call 231-843-3711 for more information.)
