Senator Stabenow Updates Northern Michigan Farmers and Growers on Farm Bill Progress

Posted: Updated:

For fruit growers, it may feel like they're just spinning their wheels. Senator Stabenow believes she's found the answer to their prayers. She says the Farm Bill is what they need to keep going without the fear of failure. The Farm Bill offers many growers the resources they don't have now; but, it's at a stand still. Some in Congress want the Farm Bill chopped down. The current bill runs out the end of September.

Senator Stabenow says they've condensed things in the current 2008 bill that aren't necessary, and growers don't want to face another year like this one with no protection.
