An incredible journey for a Michigan couple looking to do something only one person has ever accomplished- swim across Lake Michigan.
Sara and Jeff Tow began that journey Tuesday morning when they set out to swim 50 miles.
They swam to raise awareness about postpartum depression, something Jeff and Sara battled after their two kids were born.
They departed from Two Rivers, Wisconsin and finished Wednesday night at the Ludington Marina in Mason County, though not they way they had hoped.
After swimming for more than 30 hours they were declared medically unable to continue swimming by the physical trainer and paramedic aboard their support boat.
9&10's Ann Marie LaFlamme and photojournalist Joel Deaner have more on their story.
