Apple Growers Looking at Slim Crop Due to Harsh Spring Weather

Posted: Updated:

Louis Santucci is pretty familiar with his apple trees. He usually knows what to expect when it gets this close to harvest time...but, not this year. Much like cherries, apples from our region are going to be hard to come by. The loss will also affect things like the price at the supermarket, and another fall staple, apple cider.

Trees that should have lots of apples on them, may only have about ten, and they're much smaller in size. Enough to harvest, but the numbers are nothing like last year.
