An Upper Peninsula prisoner is dead after he was attacked by his cellmate.
The assault happened around 10:30 Friday morning at the Chippewa Correctional Facility.
Paramedics took the prisoner to War Memorial Hospital by ambulance and he was later transferred to the hospital in Petoskey where he died from his injuries.
Names of those involved haven't been released.
