Northern Michigan Business Eliminating 45 Employees

More than 40 people are out of work because of recent losses in business.
Dean Foods in Evart told 45 employees their jobs are being cut in the middle of this month.
It's a huge loss for the community and it happened because of Meijer opening their own dairy facilities.
Many are worried the entire facility could close if more Meijer facilities open.
Dean Foods issued this statement today:
"We regret the impact this decision will have on our employees and the Evart Community. The decision to eliminate jobs in any part of our business is never an easy one."
