Pentwater police are investigating a report of a missing swimmer.

Police say that at about 9:30 Sunday morning three witnesses reported seeing a white male swimmer with a sturdy build and dark hair, swimming at the Charles Mears State Park beach.

A few minutes later he was no longer visible.

Since then, Pentwater Police, Park Rangers, local firefighters, Oceana County Deputies, and the U.S. Coast Guard have searched the beach and surrounding areas, with no sign of the swimmer, and no clue to his identity.

Anyone with information that could help in the investigation is asked to call Pentwater police at 231-869-4630 or the Mason/Oceana County Central Dispatch at 231-869-5858.
