A storm early Monday turned deadly when a tree fell on a home killing the two people inside.
Deputies were dispatched to the home on S. Sherman Ave. in Newaygo County around 7:30 A.M.
Police say Bill 65, and Nancy 64, Vandekieft died in the bedroom they were sleeping in when a massive tree smashed into the house.
Neighbors tell us the couple is from Jackson and they were looking forward to spending their retirement in that cabin.
The early morning storm was so severe, no one heard the tree fall on the cabin. Neighbors say this isn't the couples bedroom and this isn't where they slept every night. They say Nancy had a dream last week that a tree fell on the house during a storm. That's why they think they were sleeping in their granddaughters bedroom.
