The foundation is crumbling and an aging congregation complains of the elevated entrance, so the First Gilmore Church of Christ is being moved and set on a new foundation.
It was either that or a complete new building for the church in Gilmore Township.
Preserving the building and its 111 years of history was important and today a crew moved the more than 60 ton church to its new location where construction on the foundation will begin tomorrow
The church building will be connected to the worship hall with a new kitchen and classrooms.
It's all scheduled to be done by this fall.
