UPDATE: Sunken Dredge Successfully Lifted in Lake Huron

Weather conditions have improved at the worksite of a 100-foot dredge that sank in Lake Huron July 18, allowing for safe salvage operations to continue.
The Arthur J dredging barge was successfully re-floated this morning around 3:00.
It sank 2 miles off the shore of Lakeport, Michigan during stormy weather.
Crews still have further cleanup and repairs.
All local beaches remain open, but if debris wash up on shore, the public should call the St. Clair County dispatch.
