Investigators are picking back up on a murder case that has been a mystery for 23 years.

The cold case is centered around the death of 18-year-old Shannon Siders.

Siders went missing July 18, 1989 and her body was found October 15,1989 in a wooded area near M-82 and Thornapple Road in Newaygo County's Brooks Township.

An autopsy determined her death as a homicide.

For the past 23 years, investigators continued to conduct interviews and because of advances in science, forensics teams exhumed her body to look for new leads.
