Local Food Production Plant Laying Off Employees

A local food production plant is laying off 49 workers.

Yoplait in Reed City notified workers of the lay offs this morning.

A spokesperson for the company says the move was made to align production systems to better meet current business needs.

All the laid off workers are hourly employees.

The company says the transition will take place over the next 60 days.
