An Emmet County building was in need of a little TLC, so this past year, dozens of volunteers raised thousands of dollars and pledged hundreds of their hours to the renovation.
The Upper Horse Barn at the Emmet County Fairgrounds in Petoskey is a fixture to 4-H programs and events throughout the year.
Thanks to a grant, and fundraising efforts by community members and businesses the $26,000 project is expected to be completed by this year's fair, August 18.
Volunteers ages 4-80 have been helping with the project and most of the materials used are locally sourced.
