The Traverse City Beach Bums scored three times in the first inning, but weren't able to fend-off Joliet, falling to the Slammers 5-3 in 10 innings.

Jeff Flagg's 2-run single put the Bums on the board first at 2-0.  Kyle Colligan followed that up with a sacrifice fly to increase the T.C. lead to 3-0 after one.

Joliet's Abel Nieves drove in two runs on a double in the fifth, then tied things with another RBI double in the seventh.

Former Beach Bum Kyle Maunus drove in the game-winning runs for the Slammers in the top of the 10th, coming through with a 2-run, 2-out single to rightfield.

Scott Mueller (1-3) took the loss for the Beach Bums.

The rubber match of the 3-game series is Tuesday night at 7:05 PM.
