Severe Storms Topple Trees and Power Lines in Northern Michigan

Downed trees and power lines around Northern Michigan are the results after last night's sporadic severe storms.

Consumers Energy says Osceola County leads power outages with 640. In Newaygo County, 285 are without power.

Viewers tell 9 and 10 news large hail fell near Hersey in Osceola County.

One viewer in Reed City photographed a funnel cloud. As you can see, the skies darkened considerably as the storms and subsequent cold front blew through last night.

Viewers near Stanton in Montcalm County are reporting wind damage. And we're hearing about trees and power lines down near Hart and Fremont in Oceana County.

Consumers is also reporting outages in Montcalm and Oceana counties.

Everything should be back on by later today.
