The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department has a new speed detecting sign that zeroes in on drivers going too fast.
The Sheriff's Department recently received a nearly $6,000 grant from AAA to buy the sign; it clips right on to a regular speed limit post. Officers can pull data from the sign to find out when people are speeding, and how fast they're going. It gives the Sheriff's office a better idea of where to station their patrols.
