Army Corps Set to Host a Pro-Fishing Conference Call

Posted: Updated:

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is set to host a conference call tomorrow at 10:00 AM, for an aquatic nuisance species study.

Interested parties can ask questions on the "Treaty Rights and Subsistence Fishing in the U.S. Waters of the Great Lakes, Upper Mississippi River and Ohio River Basins" and a Pro-Fishing Tournament Report for the same locations.

Both reports were released July 5th.

These two reports are Interim Products of the Great Lakes and Mississippi River Interbasin Study (GLMRIS).

The purpose of GLMRIS is to evaluate the range of options and technologies available to prevent aquatic nuisance species (ANS) transfer via aquatic pathways, between the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins.

Results from these efforts will create the baseline from which future conditions will be compared to determine impacts from potential ANS inter-basin transfer.

If you are interested in having your questions about the reports answered, please call (866) 233-3842 at 10:00 AM tomorrow, and enter the access number 253963.

The reports are available on the GLMRIS website.
