Now, everyone who flies into the Cherry Capital will know it's a Coast Guard City.
Two years ago, Traverse City was officially named a Coast Guard City; but today, a special dedication at the Air Station's neighbor, Cherry Capital Airport.
A tail rotor hub from a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter was unveiled today along with a special plaque detailing the Coast Guard's history there.
There's also a new sign near security welcoming everyone to the Coast Guard City.
