U.S. Coast Guard Rescues Boaters in Charlevoix County

Posted: Updated:

A late night rescue on Lake Michigan saved two boaters who crashed into rocks along the shoreline.

Officers from the Coast Guard Station in Charlevoix were called to a boat in distress just before 1 a.m.

They say two people drove their Four Winns too close to Big Rock Point -- smashing into some rocks, and puncturing the boat.

9&10's Evan Dean and Photojournalist Jake Johnson spoke to the Coast Guard about the rescue today.

They have more on what happened next, from Lake Michigan.
