A major construction project in Mount Pleasant had many locals fearing the worst but two weeks into the project some say the traffic is not as bad as they expected.
Crews are replacing a section of Michigan Street running from Washington to Fancher.
The $762,000 dollar project will also replace the sewers.
People trying to get to businesses are dealing with a detour. The Mount Pleasant Agency located nearby says the project has not disrupted business.
Construction should be finished by the middle of August before students return to Central Michigan University.
