You could soon pay less for a gallon of milk, but not everyone is pleased.
Local dairy farmers say the price drop is cutting into already strained profit margins. Operating costs are up and farmers invest money in things like feed for their cows months before the milk hits the market.
The hot summer weather could actually be helping dairy farmers by reducing supply. Cows produce less milk under these conditions.
Many farmers expect wholesale milk prices will not increase at least through the end of the year.
