Posted: Updated:

An Upper Peninsula State Police lieutenant is suspended from his job after a weekend arrest for suspected drunk driving.

The Chippewa County prosecutor says police arrested Lt. William Smith overnight between Friday and Saturday in Sault Ste. Marie.

He's the post commander in Gladstone.

The prosecutor says labs have been ordered for a blood draw.

Smith has not been charged in court yet, and 9&10 News is still working to get details on the arrest.
