A federal civil jury has cleared Clare police officers of wrongdoing in a 2007 shooting.
Jurors decided against awarding monetary damages in the death of William Scozzari, who was killed September 18, 2007, outside the Lone Pine Motel in Clare.
In their verdict Friday, jurors didn't find fault with Clare Police Chief Dwayne Miedzianowski, officer Jeremy McGraw, and the City of Clare.
Steven Scozzari filed the lawsuit in U.S. District court in Bay City.
He accused the officers and the city of violating William Scozzari's constitutional protection against excessive force.
Several months after the shooting, Clare County Prosecutor Norman Gage cleared both officers of wrongdoing.
