Governor Snyder made decisions yesterday, on new election rules for this November.
He vetoed bills, sponsored by his own party that would have required some voters to show a photo I-D, before they could get an absentee ballot and mandate extra training for groups registering voters.
He also vetoed legislation requiring voters to prove their US citizenship before receiving ballot.
The governor says the bills could have created confusion among absentee voters and groups conducting voter registration drives.
