Parise and Suter choose Wild over Wings

Posted: Updated:

The Detroit Red Wings lost on both prized free agents Wednesday when Forward Zach Parise and Defenseman Ryan Suter signed with the Minnesota Wild.

Detroit made an offer to both players.

Parise and Suter reportedly each signed a 13-year deal worth $98 Million.

Tuesday a contingent of Red Wings front office personnel visited Suter and his agent.  Detroit reportedly offered the defenseman a 12 or 13 year deal worth about $90 Million.

The Wild are in the same conference as the Red Wings so Detroit will see both players quite often this season.  However, that is all contingent on the NHL and its players association agreeing to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
