UPDATE: Anthony Bennett Was Denied Bail

Posted: Updated:

The man charged with beating the 4-year-old, Carnel Chamberlain, before he went missing, has been denied bail.

Late last week Anthony Bennett was charged with assault against the boy on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation near Mount Pleasant.

Carnel's family says his body was found at his home last week.

A Federal judge ruled Bennett too dangerous to be let out.

Bennett is believed to be the last person who saw Carnel alive and a person of interest in his disappearance.

And the family learned this week it may be a couple months before they can hold a funeral and ceremony for Carnel due to the ongoing death investigation.
