Traverse City Community Remembers Michael Dennos

Posted: Updated:

Traverse City's art museum is named for him, and now, his legacy will live on there. 92 year-old Michael Dennos has passed away. The community is remembering him for his love of art, and for ensuring Traverse City had a museum of its own. Back in the 1980's, Dennos played a big role in the planning stages of the museum. He and his wife, Barbara, gave so much of their time and support that the museum is now known as the Dennos Museum. Museum employees say Dennos attended many concerts and events there.

Visitation for Michael Dennos will be this Saturday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at First Congregational Church in Traverse City.
