Two teenagers are recovering after a personal watercraft they were riding on exploded on an area lake.
It happened Friday on Hamlin Lake, north of Ludington in Mason County. The teens were reportedly thrown five to six feet into the air by the explosion.
One of the teens was hospitalized.
Their injuries did not appear life-threatening.
A fire official told the Ludington Daily News that the watercraft was owned by the teens' family.
The teens told authorities they heard a loud bang as they started the engine while leaving a marina.
