DNR Urges Caution During Holiday, Dry Conditions an Issue with Fireworks Use

Fireworks you would typically see at a festival can now be used in your own backyard; but, once it leaves the ground, it becomes a major fire hazard.

We haven't had any rain, and the grass is extremely dry. Even if a small spark hits the ground, it could turn into a dangerous fire in just minutes.

Many shops selling the Fourth of July staple say they've been busy keeping up with the demand, but it's important to use them responsibly. It wouldn't be the Fourth of July without fireworks, but this year, take extra caution while enjoying the holiday.
