TCAPS Bond Proposal to Appear on November Ballot

Posted: Updated:

The largest school district in northern Michigan is looking for the community's support to renovate buildings in desperate need of attention.

The TCAPS school board just approved the bond proposal for the November ballot. The district says the current 3.1 mills is not enough to finish work on several school buildings because property values have decreased.

The new proposal would still be less than 4 mills. If it goes through, it would allow the district to finish the projects that are on hold, and start work on the performing arts center, and Central grade school.

TCAPS says the new millage would also continue the plan already in place for technology and bus replacement.
