Crews were searching for a diver that never resurfaced yesterday in Chippewa County.

Four divers went out looking for the S.S. Samuel Mather ship wreck in Whitefish Bay.

The man was with 3 others diving North of Point Iroquois Light which is in the Paradise area.

Around 2:00 yesterday afternoon, two of the divers made it up okay, but two others got stuck.

One diver cut himself free and noticed the other diver sinking, without his mouth piece in.

The Coast Guard searched all day yesterday and now the Michigan State police dive team picked up the search today.

It's unclear where the divers are from, but we're told they were diving from a boat called the Black Dog, based out of Minnesota.

They have not released the missing divers name at this time.
