Michigan Senate Voting on Bill to Help Fruit Growers

Posted: Updated:

The senate is expected to vote on a bill today to help Michigan fruit growers impacted by freezes early in the season.

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow says the farm bill is meant to help the agriculture economy grow.

Right now, agriculture supports nearly one out of four Michigan jobs.

Within the bill is an amendment to provide a chance for Michigan fruit growers to buy coverage in 2012 through the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program.
