The discovery of a woman's body along a Chippewa County road has investigators searching for answers.

The Chippewa County Sheriff says a man on an ATV found the body shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Wildcat Road, in Whitefish Township, Wednesday.

Detectives and Evidence Techs worked on the scene for several hours Wednesday night.

They currently are treating the case as suspicious, though the sheriff isn't saying exactly why.

He does say there is no immediate danger to the public.

An autopsy is scheduled to help shed light on the cause of death.

The identity of the victim is not being released until all immediate family members are notified.

9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Eric Davis have more details after talking with the sheriff today.
