NEW DETAILS: Police Release Drowning Victims Name in Newaygo County

We can now tell you the name of the victim who drowned in Newaygo County last night.

Joshua Mullens, of Oak Park, drowned after he fell off of an inner-tube on Woodland Lake in Newaygo County.

An 18-year-old boy drowned after tubing on Woodland Lake in Newaygo County.

The incident happened today around 5:00 this afternoon.

The victim, from Oak Park, Michigan was being towed on an inner-tube behind a jet ski when he fell off the tube and went underwater.

The victim was wearing a life jacket at the time but police believe it may have become dislodged as he fell off the tube.

The Newaygo County Sheriff's Dive Team did conduct an underwater search and found the victim just before 6:00 tonight.

Medical personnel did try and resuscitate the victim but were unsuccessful. 

Police are not releasing the victim's name at this time.
