Many in Grand Traverse County Left with Days of Cleanup After Strong Storms

Posted: Updated:

Arthur Biermacher lives on Blair Townhall Road. Last night, he stood in his garage and watched high winds and hail rip through his front yard. Biermacher's fence couldn't withstand the storm. It only lasted about five minutes, just enough time to do some serious damage.

Bill Endres lives nearby, a scary experience when strong winds broke one of his windows. Endres says that's when he heard a loud noise up on his roof. It was a tall TV antenna breaking loose.

Neighbors say a massive tree was uprooted by last night's wind. They say they came together and it took about two hours to clear it from blocking a private drive.

The National Weather Service says people who live on Blair Townhall Road experienced strong, straight line winds.
