4th of July Travel in Michigan Expected to be Up from Last Year

AAA Michigan predicts that 1.4 million Michigan residents will travel during the 4th of July holiday.

The numbers are up 16% from last year.

An estimated 87% of travelers will use a motor vehicle, while others will travel by airplane, bus or train.

The 4th of July travel period goes from July 3-8.

Nationally, AAA says about 42.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the holiday break, which is up 4.9% from last year.
